Welcoming Model Blueprint Assignment

For this week, there is NO READING ASSIGNMENT. However, this week, you will spend your time developing a Welcoming/Invitation Model Blueprint, due (before class) by 7:00 p.m. CST, November 29, 2011. During the class, you will have an opportunity to give the rest of us a brief synopsis of your blueprint.

PLEASE NOTE: after being reviewed by the instructor (and with any edits suggested by him), your blueprint will be made public to the rest of the class. please keep this in mind as you create your model.

Assignment Instructions:

Dream big. Think "outside the box." Move in a new direction (and have fun too). Design your own welcoming/invitation model and describe the following points:
  1. What is the objective (goal) of this outreach model?

  2. Who is your target audience (within the young adult demographic)?

  3. Where, when, how, and by whom will it all happen? Provide a working "users manual blueprint" that any church could easily follow and implement without additional explanation/detail.

  4. How do you imagine that this model will be supported, funded, and integrated into the structure of the church and/or community that you have in mind for this assignment? (please describe the church, organization, etc. that this model will fit within, with enough detail to understand how you imagine the integration and support from such an organization).

  5. How does this model relate to the young adult and postmodern realities that we have discussed in class so far this semester? In addition, are there any moments of return or opportunities that this model responds to?

The blueprint should be no less than 1000 words (although there is no upper limit; of course keep it within reason). There is also no need to worry about format, style, and so forth. However, if you are referencing another work, please include footnotes or endnotes so that this work can be easily found.
